As we continue developing the K’mayim approach, we focus this week on something that happens right in real time—in the classroom, during teaching.
Week 4:
Where Teaching Connects
The Challenge:
This week’s idea is simple: invite your K’mayim student to contribute to the lesson—not only with knowledge, but with herself.
That might mean asking for her perspective, her experience, or a personal connection to the topic. Something that only she can bring into the room.
For example:
“Shoshana, since your family is from Eretz Yisrael, can you share…”
or
“How would you think about this question from your perspective?”
The goal is not to put her on the spot, but to gently create space for her voice.
When a student is invited to contribute in this way, she begins to feel that her thoughts matter—that she is not just listening, but part of the learning itself. Connection deepens when she experiences that what she has to say is valued.
Small moments like these quietly change how a student sees herself in the classroom.
